Projects

Deathstare [2026] (Dir. Jon Crossley)
Nature project showcasing classic symphony sounds.
A warm tender heartfelt sound. The intent was to capture the feeling of seeing a loved one after a long time. The main synths are Ableton’s Wavetable and Fors’ Chiral. The string and vocal portions are Spitfire libraries.
Some glittering pads and drum n bass rhythms to capture this display of Earth’s natural beauty.
Some classical instruments and proper timing used to capture this surfer traversing a shimmering body of water.

About Me

I have been composing and producing music since middle school. After composing solo pieces for the piano I began working with Ableton and releasing music with Melodrama Records. My first job in education was teaching piano in private and small group settings. In my career as a classroom STEM teacher, I’ve created curriculum for beatmaking electives so middle school students can discover the joy of making music with computers.

When it comes to composing and producing soundtracks, I adopt a philosophy rooted in mindfulness; music is meant to elevate and heighten experiences without being overwhelming. It’s important to choose sounds and motifs that align with the overall vision, so I believe solid creative communication is the cornerstone of a soundtrack’s success.

Over the years I have accumulated a wide variety of musical experiences from writing sheet music by hand to designing soundscapes for interpretive dance performances with Ableton. In 2025 I was awarded a certificate of excellence from a film composition course headed by Timothy William. I’m excited to work together and create captivating works of art with you!

Cheers,
Nikhil Dutta
